located my outside well, installed new well bladder, sealed pipes coming into the house, installed a new frost free hose line , painted my kitchen and dining room. Installed crown molding in my dining room and kitchen, They also did some smaller odd jobs around my house, such as painted my wrought iron hand rail and fixed the way it was attached, changed the ring in the toilet tank, fixed the storm door slide arm opener, and other little things that needed tending to.”

They basically remodeled my entire basement. I have a nice bathroom that I’m obsessed with. My basement looks so much different from how it started. I couldn’t believe how fast they molded my basement together.”
“We had been looking at this project for approximately 2 years and finally lined up financing. We had several companies provide bids with most of them being far out of our budget, suspiciously low, or not in line with what we requested. Vanderwalt was the exception. Malcolm and his team listened carefully to what was important to us, our budget, and what I felt I could do on my own and he crafted a proposal based upon my these conversations; the Vanderwalt team did an exceptional job of listening. After the project was finalized, Vanderwalt took on the permitting aspects, as I had to travel over the holidays. Malcolm quarterbacked the process and got the job started mere days after submission of the permitting materials. The job went very smoothly, with his team keeping me informed of progress regularly and doing a truly outstanding job of keeping the work site clean and orderly. I never felt once that they were trying to squeeze change orders out of me - the only two change orders were reasonable and clearly outside of the scope of the proposal. In fact, I feel that Malcolm frequently interpreted any vagueness in the proposal or our expectations in a fair and reasonable manner, taking responsibility for them far more often than projecting added expense onto me. Overall, Vanderwalt delivered a great project, in a very short time frame (bid submittal to project start in a few weeks, final inspection based after less than 4 weeks of work), at a reasonable cost. I would recommend them for any future projects, and plan to have Vanderwalt bid any and every project at my home for the foreseeable future.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Vanderwalt provided most of the construction services for finishing a basement. The basement has approximately 900 sq ft of finished area and 300 sq ft of unfinished storage and mechanical room space. The job also included rough plumbing and electrical for a small half bath. The services provided by Vanderwalt were: framing, electrical, drywall (hanging, taping, spackling, and sanding), and permitting based upon my rough plans. Future work includes: painting, flooring, trim, finishing the half bath, and the wet bar.”
